The art of reducing The Adnates Perth's footprint

Here at The Adnate, we are committed to making a positive impact on the environment and our community by reducing our carbon footprint and contributing towards the sustainable future of this planet.  As part of our environmental commitment, we have implemented the following initiatives.

  • We have removed all single use plastic items in guest rooms and room amenities are found in refillable bottles in an effort to reduce plastic build up in landfill.
  • We ask guests to hang up their towels if they do not require washing in an effort to reduce water and energy consumption.
  • Room climate is controlled to minimise energy consumption.
  • We have eliminated the use of plastic water bottles and provide complimentary water in reusable glass bottles to guests.  Our water dispensing system is supplied by Purezza who also share the vision of leading the movement to remove single use bottles from the global hospitality chain.
  • Lekker bicycles are available for guests to use free of charge to minimise car and public transport travel.
  • We source our restaurant produce locally and use seasonal ingredients.
  • Food waste reduction procedures are implemented in the kitchen, such as the First In, First Out rule for food storage and usage.
  • We use sustainably green cleaning products throughout the hotel contributing to waste reduction, water saving and energy conservation.
  • Lost property is donated to various charities including The Salvation Army and St. Vincent’s De Paul.

In addition to this, we foster First Nations Engagement by partnering with First Nations people and businesses to promote respectful and responsible tourism.  The hotel itself is also a prime example of this engagement as it showcases the powerful multicultural portraiture of renowned Australian street artist, Matt Adnate.  Our team are trained in delivering art tours which detail the incredible stories behind the unique artworks at the hotel.
