The Olsen: What do you love most about your job?

Salon A: Everything, it’s one of the most and exciting jobs there is.

The Olsen: How long have you been working in the industry and how has it changed from when you started? 

Salon A: I have been in the industry for 10 years. I originally started out as a beautician but my passion for hair took over. The biggest change I have seen has been men’s hairdressing and their interest in grooming. Gone are the days men would simply walk by a salon like ours.   
 

The Olsen: What makes Salon A a stand out salon? What are the three most important things we should know about it?   

Salon A: We take pride in all the clients we take on. We make sure we keep on current trends and look out for future trends popping up. We love to give our clients a full service, including home care to keep the style and colour of their new do fresh. The salon has just released its own range of home products and is expanding them monthly which is very exciting.

The Olsen: Looking ahead to spring, what key beauty trends should we be looking out for? Will there be much colour or is the focus on the cut?

Salon A: For colours - softer and seamless tones are the go. We are using a lot of soft pinks and pastel blues, moving away from the heavy dramatic solid reds and blues we have seen the last few years. For cuts - lots of big changes with bobs back in fashion and lots of texturising to give the hair movement.

The Olsen: What are your must-haves for a well-coiffed mane?

Salon A: Products, products, products. Volumising texture spray from Label M for bigger, better hair. Definitely our new product range as well – our argan oil keeps ends in tact and our low shine paste for men gives a non-greasy textured look. Hairspray is a must – you can never go wrong with a classic.
