Nikki Pash and Michelle Rimmer are the stylish pair behind the fashion and lifestyle website States of Style. Nikki and Michelle take you backstage at fashion week, inside glamorous launch events and cocktail parties and report on a mix of high street local and luxe international designers.

With Michelle based in Perth and Nikki a Melbournian catch-ups can be a rarity, so we decided to reunite the cousins for a girl’s weekend in our Etsy Penthouse.

After a weekend spent soaking up The Cullen ‘hood, we chatted with the Nikki to get the lowdown on the girls favourite homeware and fashion destinations in the area, and of course the best spots to get one’s street style looks snapped.

I’m usually...

Nikki: At the Nova Entertainment offices in Richmond; that’s my day job!

My day begins with:

NP: A dog walk around the park and a coffee from one of my local Carlisle St cafés in Balaclava.

Some Etsy goodies on show in the suite.

The go-to places to shop around the Prahran area would be:

We are big fans of Manning Cartell, Life with Bird, Zimmermann and Scanlan & Theodore, so are always happy for a trip up Chapel St!

If I have an afternoon off, my agenda must include:

Somewhere that will serve me a good red wine and cheese. Milk the Cow is always a fave.

My favourite spot for street style people watching is...

Chapel St or Melbourne CBD. Actually, pretty much anywhere in Melbourne has great people watching.

What were your favourite local goodies in the Etsy Penthouse at The Cullen?

The Etsy homewares were stunning! The pieces were creative yet also very sophisticated, quality products that had been styled to perfection. We are both Pinterest users and often find ourselves shopping online for homewares to create spaces we love.

Finally; the best thing about Melbourne is...

The diversity. Sounds like a cliché, but it’s true on every level!

A visit to local Etsy producer Pirdy.

Whilst Etsy at The Cullen has now ended, don't despair - you can still snap up a stylish sleepover at The Cullen this winter. Book through our website and you'll also grab some sweet perks, like a cheeky discount and late checkout.
