Since being built in 1853, The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) has been Melbourne’s most iconic sporting venue. Every year, more than four million people come to “the ‘g” to experience one of more than eighty events, including cricket test matches, rugby State of Origin games and the annual AFL Grand Final.
Car Parking
Due to limited space within our porte cochere area, we recommend parking in our secure car park upon your arrival. Self-parking is $40 per night and can be accessed at the rear of the hotel, via Daly Street. Valet parking is available for $50 per night, please see a member of our guest experience team for assistance. All parking is subject to availability and in the instance that our car park is full, our guest experience team can recommend nearby parking facilities.
Public Transport
The Olsen is conveniently located within Zone 1 of Melbourne's public transport system. Tickets are available for purchase from the Reception desk at the hotel.
Train
The hotel is located just 550m to the South Yarra railway station, a premium train station that services the Sandringham, Frankston, Pakenham and Cranbourne lines. It takes just 4 minutes via train to Flinders Street Station.
Trams
Directly outside The Olsen catch one of the iconic W-Class trams on Route 78 North Richmond - Prahran. Alternatively, just a minute's walk away there is a metropolitan tram stop Route 8 Moreland -Toorak that takes you directly into the city via St Kilda Road and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
