Drawing inspiration from John Olsen’s love of all things Australian, Spoonbill’s menu offers a multi-faceted paddock to plate experience. Highlighting the origin of the food, who delivers it and why it’s so uniquely special, visitors to Spoonbill will walk away with a satisfied belly and an enlightened mind.
Inspiration gained from Olsen’s Mediterranean travels makes its way into the Spoonbill menu, with his favourite Paella dish making a special appearance. Olsen first learned to cook Paella in the 1950’s and it’s been a reoccurring theme in his work ever since. Inspired by the shape and the array of colours in the dish, he compares the traditional Spanish meal to an art masterpiece.
Designed by Grant Amon Architects, Spoonbill is furnished with a combination of new and recycled pieces. Enjoy a local brew with tapas at the bar, reserve the private dining room for up to 12 people or enjoy a balmy evening outside on the Daly Street terrace.
