Riverfire Brisbane

The Brisbane skyline comes to life for the night with massive fireworks and events sprawled all over the city. This event celebrates Brisbane by exploding the sky into light and showing off some of the best fighter jets in Queensland. Enjoy the view from the top floors of The Johnson or head in closer to the river to be in the heart of it.

 

Gallery Of Modern Art (GOMA)

The Gallery of Modern Art has a calendar full of events and exhibitions running year-round. Cinémathèque is the only Australian Gallery facility that is dedicated to film and the moving image with thematic programs and exhibitions that run everyday free of charge. Something not to be missed.

 

Barbara Bar

A chilled out bar in Fortitude Valley for the lover of good beer, spirits and cocktails who claim that ‘in Barbara’s home, there’s no such thing as a stranger’. Sit with friends or fly solo and meet some new people amongst the comfortable and modern design.

Happy Boy

Specialising in regional Chinese cuisine, Happy Boy’s menu is designed to be shared with friends and comes with an extensive wine list to accompany each plate. Big Sound Festival

Fortitude Valley is transformed into a musical playground with a massive festival and music industry conference taking over for a whole weekend. The festival is an opportunity for artists to be exposed to some of the most influential industry leaders in Australia and Internationally, not to mention a good day for out-of-towners and locals to hear some of the best new music Australia has to offer.

 

Hops Scotch and Beans

With coffee roasting on site and a house bar featuring a huge range of spirits, you can have brunch and your daily coffee before spend an entire afternoon here relaxing with tapas available all day. Only a 5-minute drive from The Johnson on Boundary Road.

 

Brisbane Arts Theatre (Petrie Terrace)

A self-funded theatre that is focused on emerging artists in the community. Many performances are held each year with a special focus on including shows for the littlies such as Cinderella and The Tale of Peter Rabbit. For adults, there are inspiring and dazzling shows that showcase Brisbane’s emerging talents.

 

E’cco Bistro
