If there’s one thing Melbourne cares deeply about, it’s coffee. Brewed fresh, blended strong, dashed with milk of all kinds or served black and piping hot, coffee keeps this city running. Amongst the myriad of Melbourne cafes, there’s a few stalwart local roasters who have staked a claim on Melbourne’s caffeine-happy landscape.

Seven Seeds Coffee Roasters are one such local legend, and they’ve continued to spread the love of great coffee across their four venues in Melbourne. They also host a free weekly ‘public cupping’ session that gives regular, non-coffee snobs the chance to get clever about coffee flavours and blends.

Get on down to their flagship cafe in North Melbourne on Fridays and Saturdays at 9am for a sensory overload over the ensuring hour. Like a wine-tasting, the cupping sessions take you through a mixture of flavours and fragrances, starting with dry fragrances and ending up with tasting of some the standout coffee blends in-house.

Whether you’re already a coffee know-it-all, wanting to pass for one or just love sampling some of the best brews in town (and who wouldn’t?) hop along to a cupping session and find out why Melburnians do have it good when it comes to a hot cup o’ joe.

Public Cupping is held at Seven Seeds Roastery just down the road from The Larwill Studio. To ensure you snag a place, they suggest you front up at least 10 minutes before the cupping session is due to start. All the other info can be found here.
