Nestled in-between South Yarra and the bustling CBD, Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens are an oasis of calm and tranquility.

Having taken cues from the grand gardens of England, the Royal Botanic Gardens were first opened in 1846 by Lieutenant Governor Charles La Trobe. Previously swamps lands, the sprawling site that reaches down to the Yarra River and also contains the residences of Government House. 

Immerse yourself in the wonders of the gardens, which are are home to Turtles, Fish, Frogs, Brush-tailed possums, Ring-tailed possums, Grey-headed Flying Foxes, Insects, Butterflies and over 50 species of birds. All of which are woven into the landscape of over 26 different collections of fauna. It's a little bit of secluded magic in our own backyard.

Today visitors to the gardens can enjoy a wide range of activities and attractions. During summer, there are outdoor performances and the Moonlight Cinema to bask in. All year round, the café and Children’s Garden is a standard feature amongst the greenery.
