Nestled among the sleek boutiques of Greville Street, this uber-polished restaurant is right at home. With contemporary cuisine and cool cocktails, FOG offers a combination of semi-formal dining and sophisticated tippling.

Speakeasy
359 Chapel Street, Prahran
A new acquaintance to the area, but already a comrade of The Cullen, the small entrance (a three metre wide shopfront on Chapel Street) is a deceptive one. As you move through the space, designed by Eon Architects, a smart dining room and large wooden outer-terrace reveal themselves. The walls around the buildings perimeter are bedecked in graffiti art by Paul Round, while the kitchen is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and is based around simple French bistro classics.

Borsch, Vodka & Tears
173 Chapel Street, Prahran
Borsch, Vodka & Tears is the destination for those who skipped the standard European backpacker trip after university, but still long for Euro-style episodes of drunken debauchery. Expect candles, soft gypsy music and plenty of punchy booze. There are well over one-hundred different vodkas here, and all of them possess their own unique twist or kick.

Ladro
162 Greville Street, Prahran
After the roaring success of the Gertrude Street original, it was only a matter of time before Melbournians were treated to another helping of the rustic Italian fare that made the first restaurant such a hit. The wood-fired oven is the centre of attention at Ladro, with some of the most gorgeous artisan pizzas that are among the best you'll find in the city.

St Edmonds
154 Greville Street, Prahran
Set away from the thronging masses on Chapel Street, this Prahran diner is a laid back affair, complete with affable service and a no-fuss approach to tasty food and drinks. A triple-headed beer tap sits nonchalantly in the middle of the counter at St Edmonds, its still-new lustre the only giveaway that it hasn't been in the same spot for a decade.

Market Lane Coffee

Fear not, the cafes that Melbourne is oh so famous for are only a moment’s walk from The Cullen. Located directly across from the hotel, Market Lane Coffee is most certainly one of the best of the best in our local hood. Specialising in the perfectly roasted bean, the concept was born and bred in Melbourne and aesthetically fits within its local surrounds of the Prahran Fresh Food Market.  They also do home delivery of their latest bean roasts, for those wanting to stay a little long at the hotel. 

Pandora's Box
2 Duke Street, Windsor
This is one box you'll be glad to open if you like your cocktails and wines sophisticated and carefully selected, your Italian tapas varied and authentic, and your spatial surroundings stylish with a warehouse-chic aesthetic. The term ‘outside the box’ come to mind with this cosmopolitan back street find, creating something completely different to this popular round-the-corner venue.

Cafe Dior
217 Commercial Road, Prahran
With its French baroque-inspired decor (which you can probably see from your hotel room window) and a menu of mod-Oz and Mediterranean classics, this new Prahran eatery is truly an intercontinental delight. From the sun-drenched courtyard and stylish interior to the modern cuisine pumping out of the kitchen, everything about Cafe Dior is as fashionably on-point as its designer label namesake.

Chez Olivier
121 Greville Street, Prahran
Surprisingly snug and low-key, this restaurant relies on simple French dishes and a light interior to draw in locals and tourists alike. There are two separate dining areas, so you can drape yourself across a plush lounge or snag one of the simple timber tables. A must on this menu is what chef likes to call, "the French version of surf 'n' turf". Ooh la la.

Jacques Reymond
78 Williams Road, Prahran
The Age Good Food Guide's 2010 Restaurant of the Year, three Chef's Hats and multiple Service Excellence Awards on top of that. Certainly, one of the finest dining destinations in Melbourne. Set in a grand Victorian mansion, Jacques Reymond is ideal for impressing someone, be it a lover, business colleague or parent-in-law.

Babble

Offering all-day dining, this bar and cafe in Prahran serves everything from breakfast treats to late evening snacks. Cocktails and a well-chosen wine list are also on the menu. After a day spent cruising Chapel Street, exhausted shoppers flock here for coffee and cake.
