Bars

Melbourne Bars | The Cullen Hotel | Luxury Melbourne Accommodation

Red Bennies
Level 1, 371-373 Chapel Street, Prahran
The vibrant, art-deco setting holds just the right amount of eccentric appeal to pull off a backdrop to the twisted live acts on show. Music-wise the bill is heavy in soul, funk, disco and jazz acts - and don't bother getting your knickers in a knot trying to nab the best seats because the performance space has been constructed with raised booth seating and mezzanine, like a traditional jazz club, so that guests can view performers from any spot in the club. Raise the roof and be inspired.

Bluebar
330 Chapel Street, Prahran
Keep your eye out for a soft blue (nameless) sign. Blue Bar's narrow space is warmed by orange hanging lamps, a rustic fireplace and a buzz of conversation. The clientele is a hip, mixed bunch, in keeping with a down-to-earth, underground vibe befitting its graffiti walls.

Boutique
134 Greville Street, Prahran
Well known for its celebrity clientele, both local and international, Boutique is Melbourne’s premier entertainment venue and night spot of choice. Situated in Prahran’s historic and hip Greville Street, the fashionable location adds to the prestige of the venue.

Hoo Haa
105 Chapel St, Windsor
Hidden away upstairs at the Windsor end of Chapel Street, Hoo Haa is a space both contemporary and intimate. Modern wallpaper and trendy recycled timber are combined with dimly lit, secluded booths for more private dining, while the large courtyard offers an alfresco space for drinks and nibbles.

Wonderland Bar
37 Chapel Street, Windsor
Although conjuring thoughts of mad tea parties and oversized rabbits, this bar is all about comfy couches, both inside and out. There's also a wide range of tipples from which to select your poison for the evening.

Katuk
517A Chapel Street, South Yarra
If you've taken a look above shop level on Chapel Street, you may have spied groups of Melbourne's cool crowd gathering to sip some wine, chat and peruse the old-school books lining the walls of Katuk. Resembling a Sex and the City-style New York loft apartment, Katuk oozes the allure of the most exclusive house party you've ever been craving to crash.

Der Raum
438 Church Street, Richmond
For those of you with no grasp of the Germanic tongue, Der Raum means ‘The Room’. And although the space is pretty much just that, indeed, the cocktails are really the thing to do here; innovative and top-notch. A little further down Chapel Street but worth the trip, pop down on a Thursday when the bar-tenders get experimental and willing guinea pigs are required to sample their creations.

Electric Ladyland
265 Chapel Street, Prahran
Situated atop a grand staircase, it may have cool views and attentive staff but it’s the slick, comfortable, designer décor which sets this venue apart. Surrounded by massive David Bromley original artworks (no wonder we love the place), Electric Ladyland is good place to chill out with mates, and a great place to go on a date with that special someone.

Love Machine
228 Malvern Road, Prahran
Walk into this place and you will instantly be struck by the innovative design, from the geometric main room to the organic shapes of the cocktail bar. Love Machine is great for a chilled night out; it combines a great venue with an upbeat and stylish atmosphere. Definitely a great place if you want to impress some friends with a bit of style and class. Show the bouncer outside your Cullen room key to jump the queue to get in.
